Emily Oliver, LCSW is a neurodivergent licensed clinical social worker and therapist, as well as a mother of two. Emily has developed a successful virtual therapy practice focused on helping neurodivergent adults process trauma and internalized ableism that they have often carried since childhood.

As a neurodivergent clinician herself, Emily has a deep understanding of the ways that being ND (neurodivergent) in an NT (neurotypical) world can impact them, and helps them "unmask" and learn to live in a way that feels more self-loving and authentic. She believes that all people, regardless of their neurotype, deserve to feel empowered, affirmed, and understood.

Emily is passionate about access to affirming mental health care and is an active advocate in the field of mental health. Her practice, Inner Lakes Therapy, provides virtual services to clients in rural “therapy deserts” in NY and VT, and offers a tiered structure that is innovative in the way it increases access for those who otherwise couldn’t pay for care. Her practice is outspoken in its dedication to providing safe care for clients from marginalized communities.

In addition to her work as a therapist, Emily is the Founder and Director of the Therapy for Therapists Collective, which is a US-based organization that offers a pro-bono psychotherapy network to clinicians suffering from burnout, in addition to other benefits that aim to address the impact of clinician burnout on vulnerable clients in marginalized communities, and a cycle of ineffective patient care.

In addition to her clinical and advocacy work, Emily is also an author and illustrator. Her writing focuses on issues related to neurodiversity, trauma, and ways we can be more affirming of differences.

In her free time, Emily enjoys art-making, traveling, beach trips, and spending time with her family. While she practices therapy in NY and VT, she lives in Savannah, GA with her family.
